  Are we losing members quicker than the WT ??

  reading a thread from just a few months ago, made me realise that a lot of people who used to be regular contributors here no longer do so.. i know that people have always moved on, as the anger and hurt get less, as the wt mind-set totally disappears, we feel the need to come here less and less, but because of the intelligence, insight, wit and wisdom of these people, the board is somewhat impoverished each time one of these moves on.. this is a plea to all who post now, and some who still read but don't post, please do not leave us entirely, the contributions on here are literally life-saving for many.

  it is easy to get dangerously suicidal when the whole wt pack of cards falls down for you.. please do not become a stranger to us !.

  Someone, in last years post, used the expression, this site can/could be thought of as a half way house.

  I am/have been, overwhelmed, by finally understanding, I have been following a paper doll religion. Man made. Imperfect.

  I was a true born in believer. I kept my mouth shut all my life, so as not to hurt JW's image.

  Being told armegeddon is right around the corner, all my life.

  Still trying to be optomistic, with a smile on my face.

  Elders not wanting to believe my spirit appointed, my eye, elder husband could be a cruel abusive man.

  I've got a lot to think about. I've only found and started reading here recently.

  It is a lifeline. Just because I don't actively post, doesn't mean I have nothing to say. I am NUMB. Understanding what this website is about, who its for, I am sure there are others, like me, who are tired and feel numbed out over the/their whole situation. I maybe sitting on the side line but I am here.

  he has a severe case of cellulites which has affected his neck glands.

  Service meeting topic: Masturbation

  one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.

  i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).

  looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.

  I would LOVE to have this Brother from the #22 VIDEO (truly a must see!), over to a JW party, preferably after a long hot District Convention is over. It is Sunday night. The ties and high heels are off. Everyone is happy and feeling good. After everyone has a least one drink, introduce this as our ASL ELDER and he would like to give a short talk to us. Does anyone here understand ASL? No? Well I'll just pass out some papers and pens and write down whatever you think this fine young brother is trying to say to us. At the climax, I mean end, we will see who got closest to the peak/thread of what he was trying to do, or not do, I mean, what the heck was he doing, I mean saying? hahahahaha I wanna go to a party!

  i just thought you should know that mrs cedars has finally taken the plunge and joined the forum.

  she was able to log on for the first time yesterday.. though we both "awakened" at different stages, mrs cedars was very supportive and non-judgmental when i first began exploring my beliefs from a critical standpoint.

  she is currently in the process of reading crisis of conscience and aquainting herself with some of the facts of witness history that were hitherto unknown.

  I do not know how many people are still up tonight to comment.

  You are going thru a terrible, traumatic time. Many, many have been down that/this road before you.

  It is not fun. It is not easy.

  Being DF'ed is abusive. The Society knows how unloving that is. To be suddenly cut adrift, with no JW friends, is cruel.

  We understand. In time, you will find Friends here. They may not know you personally, may not know your history, but they understand your back ground and what misery you are going thru now.

  There was an xJW from Dallas area that was on a few days ago, maybe a week ago. Talking on the Board that we need to do something, set up something to help people when they first come out. You do need help. It is good you recognize that. Something was mentioned about a possible 1-800-(helpJWS). NOTHING is set up. I don't even know if there is even a "ball" rolling, but yes something needs to be done and soon.

  I understand your wanting to be with someone face to face. You are going thru your own personal tsname, tidal wave. Everything isn't as it should be. All topsy-turvy.

  There is a brother (xbro) from Germany that invites people to skype him. I think a week or a month ago he was on. I am new here myself. Just 12 days on for me. I have been reading old posts. I find them very encouraging. I do not feel so alone when I am here on this site.

  Be strong Brother. (((((((((((((((((((((BIGHUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))) The pain of it all will lessen in time.

  I know that doesn't help you tonight but things will get better. Believe me.

  1.the organization itself denies access to reality and substitutes its own version, interpretations and meanings.. a.only watchtower approved publications are allowed.. b.no higher education is to be pursued.. c.no non-jw friends or associations are encouraged with their "outside" points of view.. d.no free-style questioning of doctrine or criticism permitted.

  curiousity is verboten.. e.threat of being "marked" or disassociated looms over them.

  2.between every real-world event and the rank and file jw's mind is a roadblock.. a.the moment of identifying is short-circuited by an interpretive moment of re-labeling in watchtower-speak.. b.all things happening are forced into a narrow storyline and propagandized as end times happenings leading to armageddon.. 3.social and personal identity is expunged and replaced by a collective persona: "jehovah's witness".. a.private thinking is red-flagged as selfish and sinful.. b.personal improvement, welfare and ambition is crushed and door-to-door ministry substituted as "worthy" endeavors.. c.self-conscious obsession permeates witness awareness as each person is transformed into a public spectacle of performance for judgement.. d.since you aren't an individual you don't really have a right to fall in love and marry or educate or earn.
